NBN Fibre upgrades are now available at no cost
The NBN has increased the speed of it’s Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) upgrade program in recent weeks and many of our customers are now eligible to upgrade.
If you’re going to use the NBN for your businesses internet connection our recommendation has always been to get the fastest service possible, for most people that meant 100/40. Now that FTTP is available to more and more locations, you should upgrade as soon as possible.
Even if you leave your connection speed at 100/40, by upgrading to Fibre your service will be more resilient and you will have the option to increase your connection speed in the future.
If you use the NBN for your business internet you should follow these steps right away-
- Visit this NBN webpage and see if the upgrade is available for you – https://www.nbnco.com.au/residential/upgrades/more-fibre
- If you are not yet eligible make a diary note to check once per month until you are eligible
- When your address is eligible for a fibre upgrade, contact your ISP and they will help you place an upgrade order
- Once you have an installation date, give us a call and we’ll have one of our technicians swap you over to fibre shortly after the NBN installation is completed.
In almost all cases there will be no costs from NBN or your ISP for this upgrade and if you are on one of our unlimited support plans you will also have no costs from us. The only caveat here is that if you do take the opportunity to increase your internet speed substantially you may have to upgrade some of your network equipment to handle the additional bandwidth. With that said, the majority of you already have capable routers which will not need to be upgraded.
