Urgent scam email alert
A new and very clever scam email is doing the rounds, it comes with the subject line “Enable Dark Mode” or similar and on the surface it appears to be a message describing the benefits of using ‘dark mode’ in Outlook and gives a link to “Enable Dark Mode”. It looks like this:
If you were to click on the “Enable Dark Mode” button you would then be prompted to enter your 365 user name and password thereby giving your credentials to the bad guys.
This email is NOT legitimate and should be deleted, share this warning with your friends and colleagues.
Ultimately this is just another phishing scam but I’ve never seen one this clever before and I think we can expect to see more like it.
Outlook does have a dark mode by the way, to enable it just click File on the toolbar, select Office Account and under Office Theme select Black.
