Coronavirus COVID19 response
It is no understatement to say the new coronavirus pandemic – known as COVID-19 – and the measures brought in to mitigate it have been life-changing, who would have thought that only 5 or 6 weeks ago the idea of a nation-wide shut down would be feasible let alone probable?
As it turned out, our elected leaders encouraged everyone to do their bit and minimise travel as much as possible and this has meant that a large proportion of our customers are now working partially or fully from home.
This rapid shift to working from home has brought about some technical challenges but our team has risen to the challenge and I could not be more proud of them. Over the course of the last 4 weeks they have succeeded in implementing work-from-home strategies for nearly 500 individual staff members from more than 30 individual businesses, a feat that I would have thought impossible only a few weeks ago so before I go on, I want to publicly acknowledge the incredible results that Bill, Brenden and Fabian have achieved, well done to them all!
As a result of the pandemic we have seen some changes within our own business too, we are all working from home ourselves and while there haven’t been any significant technical problems for us there have been a few other challenges, most notably the lack of water-cooler gossip and the inability for us to speak with each other across the top of the office wall partitions…
